A funeral service for Dorothy S. Wilkin, 80 of Heath, will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 28, 2006 at the Heath Church of Christ with Damon Reid officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Wilkin died Saturday June 24, 2006 at Newark Health Care Centre. She was born January 12, 1926 in Newark to the late Frank and Harriet (Darnes) Stevenson. Mrs. Wilkin was a graduate of Union High School. She was a charter member of the Heath Church of Christ, a member of Eagon Chapter 123 of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, where she was a past District Deputy, and Worthy Matron. Mrs. Wilkin was also a member of Newark Grange 1004 for over 50 years. She is survived by her sons, Steve (Susan) Wilkin of Newark; Bill (Catherine) Wilkin of Powell; a daughter, Lucy (Damon) Reid of Heath; grandchildren, Kathleen Wilkin, Bryn Wilkin, both of Newark, Adam Reid of Henderson, NV., Rachel Reid of Heath, Elizabeth Wilkin, Tom Wilkin, and Caroline Wilkin, all of Powell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Wilkin; a brother, Joseph Stevenson; and a sister Claribel Willoughby. Friends may call Tuesday June 27, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Heath Church of Christ, 1331 Chapel Way, Heath, where Eastern Star services will be held at 6:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heath Church of Christ Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church. The Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, has been entrusted with arrangements.
