Dorothy Jane Walcutt, 85 of Zanesville, Ohio experienced her heavenly "sunset" Sunday morning, August 28, 2016 at Cedar Hill Care Center.
Her earthly "sunrise" was December 10, 1930 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Andrew and Adah (Felumlee) Taylor. She was raised in Nashport and lived for many years in Frazeysburg. Dorothy was a high school graduate and later received her Associate's Degree from MATC. She was an activity assistant with Adams Lane Care Center, retiring in 1996. Mrs. Walcutt was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and for many years was a volunteer for Genesis Hospice as well as Down Bikers, Inc. of Zanesville.
Surviving are two daughters, Candy (Tom) Fitzgerald of Lilly Chapel, Ohio and Patti Cline of Zanesville; three sons, Andy (Susan) Walcutt of Nashport, Jim Walcutt of Zanesville and Chuck Walcutt of Newark; nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren, all of whom called her "Great". Dorothy will also be greatly missed by her two special friends, Karen Peach and Phyllis Lyons, as wells as many other friends.
It was Dorothy's desire that her physical body be donated to The Ohio State University College of Medicine and those wishes were granted by her family.
A memorial service in Dorothy's honor will be celebrated 2:00pm Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Faith United Methodist Church, 1616 Blue Avenue, Zanesville with Pastor Joy French officiating.
