Dorothy M. Morrison, 86, of Dresden, Ohio died Monday evening, February 15, 2016 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born January 5, 1930 in Zanesville she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Helena (Church) Brooks and was a 1949 graduate of Lash High School. Mrs. Morrison was a homemaker. She loved animals, especially dogs, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are two sons, Rodney (Stacey) Morrison and Greg Morrison, both of Dresden; two daughters, Nancy (Les) Shumate and Pam Bice, both of Dresden; ten grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her loving dogs, "Snowball", "Lazy" and "Buddy".
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Rodney L. "Jack" Morrison whom she married July 12, 1949 and who died November 23, 1996; three brothers, Fred, Don and Bill Brooks and a sister, Delores Brooks.
The Morrison family would like to give a very special thanks to the staff and nurses of Genesis Critical Care Unit for the great care given to Dorothy during her stay with them.
Calling hours will be 6pm to 8pm Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, February 19, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Joseph Offenberger officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
