Dorothy J. Miller, 87, of Dresden, Ohio died Wednesday evening, April 24, 2013 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born July 24, 1925 in Madison Township of Muskingum County she was a daughter of the late Russell and Vera (King) Sarbaugh and was a 1943 graduate of Keene High School. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and assisted with the family farm in Dresden. She was a member of the Dresden United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary of Dresden. She enjoyed traveling, reading and watching sports.
Surviving is one son, Larry L. (Linda) Miller of Winter Haven, Florida; one daughter, Gloria Stradley of Dresden; nine grandchildren, Amy (Tony) Crothers, Brenda (Jamie) York, Shawn (Connie) Hutchison, Monica (John) Gueli, David (Lana) Miller, Melanie (Edward) Stuckrath, Lisa (Joshua) Best, Courtney Van Der Berg and Nathan Miller; seventeen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold L. Miller whom she married October 24, 1943 and who died April 16, 2002; a son, Mike Miller who died August 11, 2004 and five sisters, Wanda Mason, Charlotte Simmons, Maxine King, Mildred Haight and Beulah Tiedt.
There will be no calling hours and private funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Inboden officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
