A funeral service for Dorothy L. ""Dottie"" Bolen, 72 of Newark will be held Tuesday January 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Dean Harris officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. Mrs. Bolen died Friday evening at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born February 27, 1936 in Newark, Ohio to the late Herman E. Orr and Frances K. (Maneely) Orr ? Hall.Mrs. Bolen and her husband had operated Bolen Trucking and she served as the bookkeeper. She was a member of the Land of Legend Antique Tractor Club and the Licking County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed attending flea markets and auctions finding collectables. She stayed as active as her health allowed in many farming activities. She looked forward to traveling and especially trips to Wheeling. She is survived by her three sons, Charles E. (Barbara) Bolen of St. Louisville, William L. (Connie) Bolen of Newark, Edward L. (Sharon) Bolen of Newark; grandchildren, Megan E. Bolen(Micah D. Rose) of Newark, Charles E. (Leighellen) Bolen, Jr. of Newark; great-grandchildren, Lexus Bolen, Cameron Bolen; sister, Carolyn (Donald) Bennett of Newark; brother, Richard Orr of Marne; aunt, Annie Barrett of Newark; sister-in-laws; Margie Maneely of Heath, Frances (Curt) Bowman of Newark; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Bolen January 27, 2003; brother, Charles Maneely; step-father, Willard Hall and two nephews. Calling hours will be observed Monday, January 26, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
