Funeral services for Dorothy June Boothe, 75 of Newark will be held Tuesday April 18, 2006 at 1:00PM in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Long officiating. Burial will take place in Portersville Cemetery. Mrs. Boothe died at 12:25AM Tuesday April 11, 2006 at Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born December 27, 1930 in Corning, Ohio a daughter of the late Harry and Frances (Morgan) Myers. A 1948 graduate of Corning High School and a graduate of Capital Beauty School in Columbus, she operated Dot?s Beauty Shop in Corning for several years. Mrs. Boothe had lived in McConnelsville for fifteen years and had worked at the Mark Rest Center while living there. In 1978 she moved to Tempe, AZ and worked at ITT Courier for 5 years and was a member of the American Legion Post #104 in Bagdad, AZ. She returned to Ohio in 2000 and was a member of Cox United Methodist Church. Surviving is her husband of 56 years, John A. Boothe whom she married June 23, 1949; children, Kathy (Jeffrey) James of Hopewell, John (Pat) Boothe of Longview, WA, Darryl (Rebecca) Boothe of Snohomish, WA, and Jeffery (Carmen) Boothe of Elkhorn, WI; one sister, Donna (Dale) Jacobs of Lynchburg, VA; eight grandchildren, Amy (Jeff) Pickrell of Dresden, Nicole James of Hopewell, John M. Boothe of Ellensburg, WA, Chasity Boothe of NC, Whitney Boothe of Castlerock, WA, Jeffery A. Boothe of Elkhorn, WI, Derek(Heather Spring) Boothe of Zanesville and Paige Boothe of Parkersburg, WV; three great grandchildren, Paxton Pickrell and Colton Pickrell both of Dresden and Alivia Boothe of Zanesville; several nieces and nephews; and her cat, Lucky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randall A. Boothe in 1998.
