Obituary

Doris E. Hittle, 92, of Zanesville, Ohio died Wednesday morning, May 6, 2015 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.
Born September 3, 1922 in Frazeysburg, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Ross W. and Hazel (Jennings) Frew and was a 1941 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Mrs. Hittle worked for many years at the ASCS office in Zanesville and had previously worked at Mosaic Tile Company. She was a 60 year member of the Adamsville United Methodist Church and served in several of the church offices, as well as being a member of the United Methodist Women. Doris was also a member of the Muskingum County Homemakers extension group and held several offices with that organization. She bowled for 40 years in the leagues at Military Lanes and Sunrise Bowl, and served as league secretary. In 1995 Doris and her late husband, Albert, served as Parade Marshalls for the Adamsville Homecoming. Her greatest source of enjoyment was her five granddaughters and five great grandchildren. She also loved to sew, work in her flower gardens, knit and cook.
Surviving are two sons, Mark Hittle of Hopedale, Ohio and Donald (Beverly) Hittle of Zanesville; five granddaughters, Jennifer Hittle Dunfee of Zanesville, Julie (Barry) Hittle Carter of Omaha, Nebraska, Amberly Hittle of Hopedale, Angela Hittle of Columbus, Ohio and Andrea (Joe) Hittle Marker of Hopedale; five great grandchildren, Paige and Grant Dunfee, Andrew Carter, Abigail and Austin Marker; a brother, Forest A. (Rosalie) Frew of Nashport, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert Hittle whom she married February 8, 1941 and who died June 5, 1999; a daughter, Karen Hittle; a granddaughter, Faith Hittle; a sister, Lilian Minnick and four brothers, John D. Frew, Ross E. Frew, Raymond H. Frew and Blaine Frew.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Adamsville United Methodist Church, 8065 East Street, Adamsville, Ohio.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Adamsville United Methodist Church with Pastor Kurtis Thomas officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Adamsville.
