Doris J. Pence Griffith, 85, of Dresden, Ohio went to be with her Lord Friday afternoon, May 25, 2018.

Born March 17, 1933 in Dresden, she was a daughter of the late William C. "Nippy" and Amanda L. (Moore) Pence and was a 1952 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Doris retired from General Electric in Coshocton after 42 years of service. She was a life-long member of the Dresden First Baptist Church and was also a member of the Dresden American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 399. She was an avid singer, being a member of the Greater Zanesville Singers, The Silver Threads and the Dresden First Baptist Church Choir. She was the church Choir director for several years. Doris loved playing all kinds of card games, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her many family members and friends.

Surviving are three sons, Don (Cathy) Denman of Nashport, Dean (Marea) Griffith of Zanesville and David Griffith of Trinway; one daughter, Debby (Bob) Goldsberry of Dresden; seven grandchildren, Derrick and Dustan Hood, Amanda Richards, Adam Siddle, Slade Denman, Alexis and Lindsay Griffith and ten great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Genevieve Tyson of Zanesville and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Allen Griffith; four brothers, Delbert "Buck" Pence, Spurgeon Pence, Dudley Pence and Eldred Eugene Pence and four sisters, Cora Oliver, Betty Boyer, Annabelle Lacy and Leora Conkle.

Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Dresden First Baptist Church, 801 Chestnut Street with Pastor Joseph Offenberger officiating. Burial will be in Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
