Doris Christine Green, 87, of Dresden, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 5AM Thursday April 14, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Green was born April 16, 1923 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Omer and Fannie (Lacy) Baum. Mrs. Green had been a 4-H advisor for many years, raised dairy goats and was a life member of the American Dairy Goat Association. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Dresden.
Surviving are her husband, Albert S. Green, Jr.; children, Linda (Linn) Pierce of Wilkesville, Laura (Ken) Klosterman of Pataskala, Larry Collins of Zanesville, Kristine (Scott) Offinger of Dresden; grandchildren, Susan (Peter) Gloss, Kendra (Greg) Napier, Joshua Collins, Kara (David) Longo, Cori Offinger, Cody Offinger; great grandchildren, Jacob Napier, Jessica Napier, Jiloian Napier, Jonah Gloss, Elijah Gloss and two nephews, Charles D. Baum and Dwight Lee Baum both of Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Baum, Harold D. Baum and a nephew, Harold Robert Baum and a niece, Ruth E. Baum.
Friends may call 2-5PM Sunday April 17, 2011 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. A funeral service will be held on Monday April 18th at 1PM at the First Baptist Church in Dresden, corner of Eighth and Chestnut Streets. Pastor Andrew Dennis will officiate and burial will follow in the Norwich U. Presbyterian Cemetery.
