Donna J. West, 77, of Philo, Ohio, formerly of Nashport, Ohio died Tuesday morning, March 7, 2017 at her home.

Born May 11, 1939 in Zanesville, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Clark and Mildred (Adams) Metcalf and was a 1957 graduate of Zanesville High School. Mrs. West was a retired special education teacher working for Tri-Valley Schools at Nashport, Licking Valley Schools at Toboso and for the Mary Hammond School. She was a devout Christian and attended The Well in Toboso. She enjoyed traveling, doing genealogy and visiting shut-in relatives.

Surviving is her loving husband of over 59 years, Walter A. West, whom she married September 1, 1957; two sons, Russell (Cheryl) West and Adam West, both of Zanesville; three daughters, Valerie (Stan) Dobson of Frazeysburg, Janet (Tim) Frye of West Salem, Ohio and Amy (Rob) Carpenter of Greenfield, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. Also surviving is one brother, Millard (Marilyn) Metcalf of Zanesville; one sister, Virginia Smith of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Danny Metcalf and a sister, Judy Romine.

Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be a 1:00pm Friday, March 10, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Jimmy Dale Adams officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
