Donna Jean Slaughter, 69, of Nashport, Ohio died Thursday morning, September 1, 2022 at Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio in Newark, Ohio.

Born April 14, 1953 in Newark, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Edgar and Wilma Louise (Cooper) Whyde, Jr.  Donna was a former bartender at American Legion Post 85 in Newark.  Donne loved the outdoors, camping and riding go-carts.  She was a very avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

Surviving is her husband Michael L. Slaughter whom she married May 1, 1999; two daughters, Christina L. Huston of Florida and Kimberly J. Gee of Oklahoma; two step-sons, Brian J. Slaughter of St. Louisville, Ohio and Michael J. Slaughter of New Lexington, Ohio; one step-daughter, Amanda B. Graves of Illinois; thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  Also surviving is a sister, Norma L. Johnson of Newark and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, L. Dwight Huston and a brother, Danny Joe Whyde.

There will be no public calling hours or funeral services.  Private family memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
