Donna J. Freshwater, 85, of Dresden, died Friday morning, February 24, 2023 at Altercare North of Newark, Ohio. Donna lived independently up until the last five months where she stayed at Altercare.

Born June 9, 1937 in Zanesville, she was a daughter of the late Charles D. and Pauline (Lynn) King and a 1955 graduate of Jefferson High School. Donna was a Presbyterian by faith and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as Chaplain for many years.  Donna had worked several years at Popeyes Restaurant and IGA prior to Longaberger.  She retired from the Longaberger Company after working in several departments including, weaving baskets, handles and shipping. Donna enjoyed traveling and going on cruises with her daughters.

Surviving are her four children, Peggy Graham, Beverly (John) Johnson, James (Judith) Freshwater and Judy (Dale) Ferrell; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty King; a good friend and neighbor, Nita Reed; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Robert Freshwater; son-in-law, Owen Graham; a brother, Gene King; a sister, Kay Hall and a brother-in-law, Harold Hall.

Friends and family may call 10:00am till the time of service at 11:00am, Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Darla Revennaugh officiating.

Donna will be laid to rest at Dresden Cemetery, Dresden.
