Obituary

Donald L. Studer, 85 of New Lexington died Friday morning January 18, 2008 at his granddaughter?s home. He was born December 25, 1922 in New Lexington to the late Joseph Eli and Mary Margaret (Decot) Studer. He is retired from Ludowici Celadon. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and the Leo Ryan Post 58 of the American Legion and the VFW in Somerset. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He volunteered a number of years at the food pantry senior volunteer program. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bonnie J. (Williams) Studer, whom he married October 28, 1942; two daughters, Carolyn (Lynn) Householder of Rushville, Janice (Leo) Fink of Rushville; grandchildren, Lynn (Lisa) Householder, Jr. of New Lexington, Barbara Freville of Rushville, Todd (Christina) Householder of Junction City, Melinda (Kyle) Kaufman of Thornville, Craig Fink of Rushville, Marcie (William) Gordon of Somerset, Vicki (Ryan) Young of Thornville, Tracy Fink of Rushville; great-grandchildren, Kelly (Bob) Kunkler, Amanda (Brad) Huffman, William Gottke, Krista (Dusty) Lozier, William Freville, Matthew Freville, Cassandra Householder, Todd Householder, Jr., Larry Householder, Gage Kaufman, Hannah Kaufman, Devan Gordon, Leah Gordon, Owen Gordon, Eli Gordon; great-great grandchildren, Bobby Kunkler, Kenedi Kunkler, Cami Huffman; brothers, Joseph Studer of Chillicothe, Gerald (Joann) Studer of Somerset; sister, Eileen (Albert) Carney of New Lexington. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Cable, Rose Mary Dumolt; brothers, Harold Studer, Maurice Studer, James Studer, Richard Studer, Eugene Studer; and great-grandchild, Cassidy Householder. Calling hours will be observed 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday January 20, 2008 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, 203 S. Columbus Street, Somerset. A vigil service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday January 21, 2008 at St. Rose Catholic Church, 309 N. Main Street, New Lexington with Father James C. Csaszar, Celebrant. Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery with graveside military services by Leo Ryan Post 58 American Legion, Somerset
