FRAZEYSBURG ? Donald R. Shook, 76, of 13490 Mt. Zion Road, Frazeysburg, Ohio, died at 1:07am Sunday, November 2, 2003 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio. Born November 1, 1927, he was the son the late Ray and Grace (Gorrell) Shook and was Baptist by faith. Mr. Shook retired from the State of Ohio Division of Liquor Control after 25 years of service and was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Army. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed four-wheeling, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and listening to country music. Surviving are two sons, Michael Shook and his special friend, Madolene Carlin of Frazeysburg and Daniel R Shook of Newark, Ohio; two daughters, Joy Seibel and Jeanette Caldwell, both of Frazeysburg; two brothers, William Shook of Philo, Ohio and Gene (Leona) Shook of Blue Rock, Ohio; two sisters, Josephine McDowell of Phoenix, Arizona and Ruth Hampp of Blue Rock; five grandchildren, Jodi (Jarrad) Vorys, Eric (Charlotte) Caldwell and Misty (Kevin Krinn) Caldwell, all of Frazeysburg, Hank Seibel of Stockport, Ohio, and Valerie Caldwell of Montana; two great grandchildren, Kasandera and Dakota Vorys of Frazeysburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia I. (Peck) Shook, whom he married September 22, 1950 and who died August 24, 2002; a brother John ?Tom? Shook, and a sister, Esther Jackson. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 Third Street, Frazeysburg. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Murphy and Mr. Forrest Pierce officiating. Burial will be in the Shook Family Cemetery, near Frazeysburg.
