Donald E. Romine, 55, of Dresden, Ohio died Thursday morning, November 8, 2018 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio

Born July 31, 1963 in Coshocton, Ohio he was a son of the late Frederick Romine and Ruby Ramsey Gans of Middleton, Idaho. Donald was raised from the age of four months by his grandparents, the late Ralph and Esther Romine.  He was a 1981 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and he received his paramedic degree from MATC, now Zane State.  Donald was employed for 25 years at Kaiser Aluminum in Heath, Ohio and later in the security department of the Longaberger Company for seven years.  He was also employed by Zanesville Ambulance Service for two years.  Donald was very active in the Dresden community.  He was a former member of the Dresden Church of the Nazarene and was currently a member of the Dresden Northgate Open Bible Church.  He has been a paramedic for 27 years and member of the Dresden Fire Department for 25 years.  He was EMS Squad Captain for two years.  He was also a member of the Dresden Police Department for 25 years.  His love, his service and his dedication to our community will be deeply missed.

Surviving is his loving wife of 34 years, Kimberly A. (Flowers) Romine whom he married May 20, 1984; one daughter, Lauren K. (Matthew) Hartmeyer of Willoughby, Ohio, a sister, Cindy Crowley of Greenleaf, Idaho and a step brother, Rusty Prouty. Also surviving are two uncles, Jim (Lois) Romine of Frazeysburg and Mark (Rachel) Romine of West Lafayette, Ohio and an aunt, Irene (Carl) Schweitzer of West Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Esther Romine and Paul and Virginia Ramsey and an aunt, Lillian Casper.

The Romine family wishes to give a very special thanks to the staff of Genesis Morrison House for the great care given to Donald.

Calling hours will be from NOON to 2pm Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Northgate Open Bible Church, 10516 Frazeysburg Road, Dresden, Ohio.

Funeral services will be at the church at 2:00pm with Pastors Mike and Melody Foster officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Genesis Hospice or to the Dresden Police Department.
