A funeral service for Donald Richard Paul, 64 of Pataskala will be held Monday October 17, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute with Pastor Irene Wilson officiating.Mr. Paul died Friday October 14, 2005 at Mt. Carmel East Medical Center. He was born February 9, 1941 in Piketon, Ohio to the late Nicholas and Irene (McKee) Paul.Mr. Paul retired in 2001 from American Electric Power as the dispatching supervisor with 40 years of service. He was a member of the Old Country Church, member of Tiffin Gospel Music Association. He loved singing and was active in the nursing home ministry and gospel music ministry.He is survived by his wife Patricia (Crawford) Paul whom he married December 20, 2003; daughter, Dolly Summers of Pataskala; son, David (Christy) Paul of Pataskala; sister, Mildred Sanders of Whitehall; four grandchildren, Ashleigh, Laura, Nicholas, Jacob; step-daughter, Alicia Byers of Pataskala; step-sons, Mike (Terri) Byers of Newark, Chris (Brandy) Byers of Utica; 12 step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lou Paul who died May 12, 1988; two sisters, Ruth Marie Cochran and Barbara Dean.Calling hours will be observed Monday 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street Newark.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
