Donald E. Michael, 86, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Wednesday morning, November 9, 2016 at Zanesville Health & Rehabilitation Center in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born August 25, 1930 in Obetz, Ohio he was a son of the late Ceward E. and Melva I. (Carpenter) Michael and was retired from the maintenance department of Rockwell International. Mr. Michael enjoyed working in his workshop and "tinkering" around his place on the hill.

Surviving are his nieces and nephews, David (Margie) Michael of Heath, Gary (Camie) Michael of Frazeysburg, Nancy (Jim) Martin of Dresden and Kimberly Cordle of Galion, Ohio; a sister in-law, Mildred Michael of Frazeysburg and a brother in-law, Clarence Shultz of Galion. Also surviving is his closest friend and companion, his dog "Brownie", along with several very good neighbors.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Vivian L. (Shultz) Michael whom he married September 5, 1964 and who died July 9, 2014; a brother, James W. Michael; a niece, Debra Miller and a brother in-law, Richard Shultz.

Calling hours will be for two hours prior to the funeral service, which will be at 1:00pm Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Mesnard officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
