The homecoming service for Donald Eugene Lee, 74 of Newark will be held Wednesday February 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 383 Washington Street with the Rev. Dr. Charles W. Noble, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens. Mr. Lee died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at his residence with his family present. He was born July 7, 1934 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Milton Lee and Dorothy (Winifield) Lee Johnson. He retired April 1, 1992 with 39 1/2 years service with Rockwell International (Meritor) in the Heat Treat Department. He was also owner of Donald Lee Cleaning Company for 28 years where he contracted all over Newark and surrounding counties. Donald was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. When he gave his life to God he loved him the most. He adored all of his family and loved each one, who will miss him dearly. Donald enjoyed sports and pool. He is survived by his wife of 40 ? years, Sarah (Davis) Lee, whom he married April 8, 1968; his children, Michael (Pam) Lee of Newark, Donald Eric (Ronda) Lee of Newark, James Lee of Newark, Scott Lee of Newark, Steve Lee of Newark, Jason Lee of Newark, Pam Lee Skinner of Newark, Margie Lee Moore Jackson of Paramount, CA., Vicki Lee of Newark; step-children he raised, Delbert (Jody) Saunders of Newark, Terry (Kim) Saunders of Zanesville, Stephon (Teresa) Saunders of Nashport, Timothy (Maymie) Saunders of Heath, Valerie Saunders (Roland) Haile of Newark; He also raised grandchildren, Tracy Lee, Rodrick (Ricky) Saunders; great-granddaughter, Tracey Lee of Newark whom he loved very much. Mr. Lee has 55 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Maxine Lynch of San Diego, Ca., niece, Valerie Appling and nephew Andy Young both of San Diego. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father, Luther Johnson, brother, Jackie Lee; daughter, Portia Lee Gilbert and two great-great grandchildren.Don will be sadly missed by his doctor and dear friend of 31 ? years, Dr. Leslie R. Laufman, M.D., Oncology. Other friends Mary Farmer, Earnestine Allen, Lennie Farmer whom made him laugh and made his days brighter. James Clark of Ky., Deacon Fondy Carter, Bobby Brown and Ralph Franklin all of Newark. The family thanks Dr. Laufman and her staff and Hospice of Central Ohio.
