Donald E. Fleming

ZANESVILLE -    Donald E. Fleming, 88, of Zanesville, Ohio died Friday afternoon, December 20, 2024 at the Helen Purcell Home in Zanesville.

Born May 22, 1936 in Frazeysburg, Ohio, he is a son of the late Rhoda M. (Lecky) & Thomas C. Fleming, Sr. and a 1954 graduate of Frazeysburg High School.  Donald proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1954 to 1956.  He was employed by Ohio Oil Gathering Co. until he retired in 1986 and was a member of the Zanesville American Legion for over 30 years.  Donald enjoyed golfing and cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes football team.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Patricia L. (Poole) Fleming whom he married April 7, 1960; a son, Jerry (Gayla) Fleming of Zanesville; two grandsons, Kyle Fleming of Zanesville, OH and Chad Gillit of Pickerington, OH; three great grandchildren, Victoria, Jossalyn, and Gabriella and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by eight brothers, Dwight, James, Charles, Carl, Asa, Walter, William and Thomas Fleming, Jr.; three sisters, Norma Fleming, Clara Morin, and Rhoda Reed.

A private family service will take place.  Donald will be laid to rest in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
