A graveside service celebrating the life of Donald G. Cochran, 93 of Newark will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Greenhill Cemetery, Johnstown, Ohio with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating.
Don passed away Sunday March 6, 2022 at his residence. He was born to the late Ira L. and Hazel (Simpson) Cochran on August 13, 1928 in Utica, Ohio.
He graduated from Newark High School with the class of 1948. He was a member of Licking County Arts. He retired as the owner of Donald Cochran Custom Builders following a lifetime of construction work. He enjoyed painting many beautiful pictures, tending to his flowers, feeding the birds and squirrels. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Peggy Ann (Greg) Lombardo of Newark, Mark (Sarah) Cochran of Mechanicsburg, PA, Dean (Robin) Cochran of Burlington, KY; sisters, Myrtle (John) Vannoy, Georgianna Baker all of Newark; seven grandchildren, Jody (Richard) Schirtzinger, Mindy Crouse, Rhett Cochran, Trevor Cochran, Katie Cochran, Megan Cochran; Ama (Jacob) Adair; six great-grandchildren, Riley Schirtzinger, Jonathan Schirtzinger, Kitty Crouse, Jack Crouse, Arya Adair, Finn Adair; many nieces, nephews; feline companions, George & Oreo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lela (Piper) Cochran; infant grandson, Aaron Simpson; five sisters, Genevieve, Darlene, Grace, Dorothy, Margaret and one brother, Eugene.
