Don C. Eppley, 82, of Dresden, Ohio died Thursday morning, June 30, 2016 at his home.
Born May 16, 1934 in Zanesville, Ohio he was a the son of the late Carl Raymond and Eleanor Beatrice (Edwards) Eppley and was a 1952 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. For many years he farmed with his father and brother on their farm near Zanesville. In 1960 he bought the Dresden Feed Mill and was still active in the mill's operation. For many years he was a district sales manager with Great Lakes Hybrid Seeds. As an active farmer he won Contoured Plowing trophies four years in a row, at both the County and State level. Don served as President of the Young Farmers Association, President of the Dresden Jaycees and as Master of Richvale Grange.
In 1984 Don, and his wife Joanne, along with seven others, opened the doors to Goodnews Fellowship Church, which is now known as Northgate Open Bible Church. Don's passion was telling about Jesus Christ. For many years he taught Sunday School classes and End Time Prophecies.
Surviving is his loving wife of nearly 61 years, Joanne (Dudas) Eppley, whom he married October 2, 1955; three sons, Doug C. (Beth) Eppley of Dresden, Randal A. (Jenny) Eppley of Zanesville and Mark G. Eppley of Dresden; one daughter, Sherri Lyn (Jeff) Moore of Dresden; twenty grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two sisters, Beatrice Blizzard of Frazeysburg and Carole Sue (Wayne) Wright of Heath, Ohio; a sister in-law, Iris Eppley of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, David Eppley and a niece, Donna Eppley Lanning.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Foster officiating. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the 700 Club, Christ's Table or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
