NEWARK â?? A funeral service for Diane Sue Sherrard, 68 of Newark will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. John Fields officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery.
Diane passed away Thursday, January 7, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 18, 1941 in Circleville to the late Gene and Garnett (Hott) Arledge. She worked for Licking Memorial Hospital for 38 years as a technician in central supply, and later the surgical supply department. She enjoyed traveling, whether it was a day trip to Circleville or an extended vacation. Diane loved the beach, flowers, and spending time with family. She was a generous, caring person with a big heart and a giving spirit.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Charles â??Edâ? Sherrard, whom she married July 18, 1957; a son, Rick Sherrard; and a daughter, Debbie Moyer, all of Newark; grandchildren, Joshua Sherrard, Jeremy Sherrard, Brooklyn Sherrard, Brian Moyer, Shawn Moyer, Amber (Rex) Wright, and Hank Crawmer; a brother, Ronald Arledge; a sister, Judy (Bob) Christian; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010 at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
