A funeral service for Delbert M. Wright, 77 of Newark will be held Wednesday July 26, 2006 at 11:00 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery with military services by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.Mr. Wright died Saturday July 22, 2006 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born June 9, 1929 in Licking County to the late Charles B. and Eura M. (Nethers) Wright.Mr. Wright retired in 1987 as a truck driver for B & L Motor Freight. He had also been employed by Holtz Industries and Burden Machine Shop. He was a member of Teamsters Local # 637. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1955.Survivors include his longtime personal friend, Eilene Wright of Nelsonville; son, Dan D. (Chris) Wright of Hebron; daughter, Connie S. Wright of Hebron; sisters, Beatrice (Edward) Stickle of Mt. Vernon, Rachel Holtz of Newark, Wilma Gray of Newark, Helen LaVon (Robert) Ellis of Newark, Bertie Hash of Newark; brothers, Ralph ?Jerry? (Garnett) Wright of Pataskala, Terry Wright of Newark; grandchildren, Chad (Lisa Ware) Wright of Heath, Shane Wright of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Ted Williams of Hebron; great grandchildren, Michael Wright of Hebron, Chelsea Wright, Shad Ware, Travis Ware all of Heath, numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be observed Tuesday 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
