Deborah M. Ankrum, 55, of Hopewell, went home to be her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ unexpectedly Monday at her home from an apparent asthma attack. She was born February 16, 1951 in Zanesville, a daughter of John and Emma (Matis) Graves of Zanesville. Mrs. Ankrum was employed at West Muskingum Schools and was a Girl Scout troop leader and a 4-H advisor for the Hopewell 4-H?ers. She enjoyed working with her hands, was talented in sewing, woodworking and gardening and assisted with crafts at Adams Lane Care Center with the Girl Scouts. Mrs. Ankrum also enjoyed working with Dana Chaney constructing drum sets. She was formerly a member of the Southgate Church of Christ in Heath where she taught Thursday school for many years and was a member of the North Terrace Church of Christ. Surviving in addition to her parents are her children, Phillip Mock, Jr. and his fianc?, LeAnne Bader, of Zanesville, Brenda Mock of Zanesville, Brandy (Jon) Griffin of Adamsville, Monica Ankrum of the home, step children, Lisa (Brett) Stocker of Pickerington, Kris (Mike) Hawley of Hebron; 15 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson; her fianc? John Carroll and his children; brothers, Richard (Karen) Graves of Zanesville, Danny (Sue) Graves of Zanesville, Larry Graves of Hopewell; sisters, Rozanne Collins of Hopewell, Linda (Wayne) Knowlden of Zanesville and her beloved dog Sandy and cat Buddy. She was preceded in death by her husband, David G. Ankrum on January 26, 2004. Friends may call 4-8PM Thursday December 14, 2006 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home in Dresden. A funeral service will be held at 2PM Friday at the North Terrace Church of Christ with Bill Meaige officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery.
