Dayle L. Garver, 77, of Dresden, died at 3:20PM Monday August 21, 2006 at Morrison House Hospice. Mr. Garver was born September 23, 1928 in Dresden, a son of the late Harry W. and Edna M. (Adolph) Garver. He was a 1947 graduate of Jefferson High School and had worked at the Dresden Paper Mill, Line Material, Universal Cyclopes, and retired as a mail carrier at the Dresden Post Office. Mr. Garver enjoyed skeet shooting and was a member of Coshocton Gun Club, Dillon Sports Center and was a life member of the NRA. He was a former member and past president of the Dresden Village Council. Surviving are his wife, Virginia L. (Powell) Garver, whom he married July 31,1948; his children, John R. Garver of Westerville, Trudy K. Harper of Nashport, Jeff Garver of Dresden; grandchildren, Shannon (Will) King of CA, Katie (Ryan) Bailey of Pataskala, Nick (Sara) Garver of Newark, Craig Garver of Westerville, Jenna Garver of Pataskala; one great-grandson, Willis Jackson King, IV of CA; his brother, Earl (Helen) Garver of Dresden; a sister in law, Helen Garver of Dresden; nieces, Edna Mae Nail of TN, Kitty Cunningham of Dresden and a special close friend, Paul Gelfer of Nashport. He was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Garver and a nephew, Francis Garver, Jr. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-9PM Thursday August 24, 2006 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute funeral Home, where services will be held at 11AM Friday with Pastor Andrew Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery.
