David A. Stevens, 62, of Dresden, Ohio died Saturday morning, May 10, 2014 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born October 10, 1951 in Cambridge, Ohio he was a son of the late Thomas Stevens and the late Vivian (Sills) Stevens Cox. Mr. Stevens was an Army veteran having served during the Viet Nam Era. He was a former nurses aid at Sunny View Nursing Home and previously he had been a security guard with Buckeye Security. He was a member of the Dresden Church of the Nazarene; Charles M. Mitchell Post #399 American Legion of Dresden and the Fishing Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his family.
Surviving is his wife, Bernice A. (Crozier) Stevens whom he married December 9, 1988; two sons, David (Jennifer) Stevens, II and Kasey Stevens, both of Dresden; three daughters, Faith Renee Stevens and Nicole Louise Stevens, both of Dresden and Davella Smith of Cambridge; five grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Stevens of Senecaville, Ohio and Tim (Dianna) Cox of Cumberland, Ohio; four sisters, Anna (Benny) Enochs of New Concord, Ohio, Jackie (Norman) Feldner of Caldwell, Ohio, Golda Stevens of Byesville, Ohio and Dena Stevens of Cambridge; his mother in-law, Joann Crozier of Dresden and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 6pm to 8pm Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Chuvalas officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery with military honors conducted by Charles M. Mitchell Post 399, American Legion.
