David E. Shinn, 75, of Adamsville, Ohio died Saturday afternoon, December 5, 2020 at his home.
Born December 9, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio he was a son of the late Wilbur and Leora (Keiffer) Shinn and was a 1964 graduate of Adamsville High School. Following high school he proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. David was retired from Mt. Perry Foods where he worked in the maintenance department. He had previously worked in the maintenance department at Racine Hydraulics of Zanesville. He also worked in Leather Sales for many years and was a farmer. David loved the Adamsville community and was a very active member of the Adamsville Volunteer Fire Department where he served for 56 years and was a former Chief of the department.
Surviving is his loving wife of over 51 years, Deborah S. (Thomas) Shinn whom he married July 6, 1969; one son John Shinn of Adamsville and one granddaughter, Anissa Shinn of Zanesville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Adam Michael Shinn who died December 1, 2014.
Calling hours will be from 6pm to 8pm Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the Adamsville Fire House, 5345 Mollies Rock Road, Adamsville, Ohio.
Funeral services will be at NOON Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the Adamsville Fire House. Burial will be in Heaven's Gate Cemetery near Adamsville.
Due to Covid restrictions, self-provided mask are required during visitation and funeral service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Adamsville Volunteer Fire Department.
