Obituary

David R. Morrow, 80, of Columbus went home to his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 17, 2025. He was born November 2, 1944, in Ravenna, Ohio, a son to the late David and Mary (Saltz) Morrow. He was a 1963 graduate of Newark High School. He was a member of the South Bloomfield United Methodist Church. He started work at Rockwell International in January 1965 from where he retired after 30 years of work; he also was a blacksmith for Standardbred horses for over 40 years.  His interests included watching Ohio state football and basketball, fishing, riding horses, traveling the country with his wife JoRita and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, JoRita (Wightman) Morrow, whom he married June 12th, 1982; his daughter, Kim (Todd) Harrold of Newark, OH; brother Richard Morrow; grandchildren Jennifer (Brad Courtnage), Jessica (Kenneth Lorenzo), and Todd (Ellie) Harrold; great-grandchildren Isabella Lorenzo, Emily Wendeln, Jacob Courtnage, and Todd Harrold as well as nieces and nephews Julie (Jimmy) Gray and Jay (Heather) Morrow.

Visitation will take place from 11 am -1 pm Friday, May 23, 2025, with a 1 pm funeral service at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark, Ohio 43055. A graveside service at Newark Memorial Gardens will take place immediately following the funeral service with Pastor Floyd Hubbell officiating.
