A Mass of Christian Burial for David McPhaden, 70 of Newark will be 11:00a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at St. Francis de Sales Church with Rev. Father David Sizemore, celebrant. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

David died Thursday evening, April 27, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 18, 1952 in Springfield, OH to the late Bruce H. and Jessie (Whitehair) McPhaden. David was a graduate of Central Valley High School in Spokane, WA and Georgetown University. He retired as a National Contracts Manager for Safelite AutoGlass. David was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include his loving wife, Cynthia (Shoemaker) McPhaden; daughters, Bethany Warthen, Jennifer (Louie) Johnson and Amy (Michael) Gray; sisters, Lesley McPhaden (Craig Tregillis), Jean McPhaden; a brother, Douglas (Diana) McPhaden; grandchildren, Ezekial Warthen, Sidney and Hank Johnson, Katie and Emily Gray; nieces, Greer McPhaden, Imani McPhaden, Katie (Mike) VonNiederhausen and Helen Siefert.

David was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Vaughn.

Friends and family may visit from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
