David J. "Hoss" McClellan, 69, of Toboso, Ohio died Wednesday morning, September 5, 2012 at his home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He is now with his loving Savior, Jesus, and his precious daughter, Tawn.
Born August 9, 1943 in Ironton, Ohio he was a son of the late Lindsay W. and Ada K. (Barstow) McClellan and was a 1961 graduate of Newark High School. Mr. McClellan was a forklift operator at Owens-Corning Fiberglas and retired in 2000 with 37 years of service. He was a member of the Toboso United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening and old cars.
Surviving is his wife, Shirley J. (Bucklew) McClellan whom he married February 18, 1956; two sons, Shawn McClellan and Shane McClellan both of Toboso; a daughter Dawn McClellan of Newark; four brothers, Wayne McClellan of Texas, Michael (Joyce) McClellan of Margate, Florida, Mark McClellan of Columbus, Ohio and Eric (Michelle) McClellan of Heath, Ohio; one sister, Lisa (Paul) Keenan of Newark; several nieces and nephews, special friends, Cliff Warner, Eileen Smith, Marty and Patty Negele and P. J. Negele, his extended family of Toboso friends and many other special friends and co-workers from Owens-Corning Fiberglas.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tawn McClellan and his mother in-law, Nadine Bucklew.
The McClellan family would like to give special thanks to David's care givers, Hazel Lescalleet and Amy McClellan.
