A celebration of life gathering for David Eric Grundy, 46 of Thornville will take place on Sunday October 4, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.

David passed away on Tuesday September 22, 2020. He was born April 21, 1974 in Columbus, OH.

David is survived by his mother, Linda A. (Perry) Latorre of Pataskala; father, David I. Grundy (Mindy) of Hebron; sons, Tyler (Amanda) Grundy of Murfreesboro, TN, Trayvin (Destiny) Grundy of Gallatin, TN, sisters, Carrie Crockett (Bill) of Pataskala, Whitney Knowles (Gerald) of Pickerington, Kim Christensen (Jeff) of Etna; brothers, Michael Scott Grundy of Newark and Jonathan Latorre of Thornville. In addition to his children, parents and siblings, David is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, each of whom loved him dearly.

David, a painter who was second to none, owned his own business, Exact Painting. It was our joy to see the pride he took in his work.

He loved his family and enjoyed being a part of family gatherings.  He especially loved fishing and boating with his father. Some of our favorite memories come from growing up on a farm where he was known for building the best forts and taking off into the woods on his horse for hours on-end.

David's greatest joy in life was becoming a father to Tyler and Trayvin and seeing his sons become exceptional men.

We will forever miss David's big smile and unmistakable laugh.
