Darliss D. Mock, 90, of Frazeysburg, Ohio, joined her husband, Philip, and her twin sister, Donna, in heaven late Monday evening, July 6, 2026, at the farmhouse, surrounded by her devoted daughters and their families.

Born March 25, 1936, in Smithville, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Charles Edward & Edith Rebecca (Dye) Barr, and a 1954 Graduate of New Concord High School. Lovingly referred to as "Sugar Babe” by her husband and those who knew her well, she was a member of the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church, now known as Frazeysburg Christian Church, for more than 60 years. Darliss was a past member of Richvale Grange, the Muskingum County Pomona Grange, and a ladies’ Eureka Club.

Don’t let the nickname, “Sugar Babe” fool you. Darliss was tough as nails, a hard worker, a two-time breast cancer survivor, and the most compassionate person you’ve ever met. She and Phil had four daughters within the first five years of their marriage. Darliss assisted with the family dairy farm, cooked for the summer hay helpers, and managed their large vegetable garden. She was known for her amazing pies, hosting family holidays and serving homemade meals. Darliss and Phil raised their girls in a loving Christian home, instilling strong work ethics and always putting others needs first. She truly enjoyed serving others. What Darliss loved the most was her family and she cherished every moment she spent with them.

Darliss and her identical twin, Donna, raised their families several states and sometimes countries apart. After Phil’s death, Donna moved to the family farm where the twins enjoyed living together and caring for each other for the last ten years, until Donna’s passing merely nine months ago. They always dressed alike and went everywhere together, often becoming the center of attention.

Surviving are her four daughters, Becky (Randy) Vansickle of Dresden, Brenda (Larry) Clemens of Viera, Florida, Beverly Andrews of Frazeysburg and MaryBeth (Edwardo) Sanchez of Apollo Beach, Florida; nine grandchildren, Steve (Sommer) Vansickle, Stacey (Matt) Summerfield, Michaela Clemens, Joshua (Jala) Clemens, Mandy Andrews, Bryan (Emily) Andrews, Christy (Jesse) Botello, Raechel (Andrew) Fitzpatrick, and Alec Sanchez; fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Darliss was preceded in death by the love of her life, Philip H. Mock whom she married April 24, 1960, and who died October 22, 2015; her twin sister, Donna Barr Melrose and a brother, James Everett Barr.

Family and friends may visit from 1pm to 4pm on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Frazeysburg Christian Church, 87 W. 2nd Street, Frazeysburg, OH 43822. Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Sidney Davis immediately following visitation hours.

Darliss will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Zanesville Memorial Park on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 11:00 A.M.
