Danny E. Baker, 69, of Dresden, Ohio died Monday afternoon, April 25, 2016 in the emergency room of Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
Born March 10, 1947 in Wheeling, West Virginia he was a son of the late Warden and Juanita (Nutter) Baker and was a 1965 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Following high school he proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was retired from the Burnham Corporation of Zanesville and then began working at the Longaberger Company for several years. Danny loved to fish and he loved watching football, especially the Tri-Valley Scotties. He enjoyed taking long car rides into the country and reading military books.
Surviving is his loving wife of over 45 years, Sandra K. (Newsom) Baker whom he married July 21, 1969; a daughter, Angie Bice and her husband, Chad; three grandchildren, Alexis, Alivia and Ava Bice; four sisters, Ann Breeden and Joann (Rich) Longaberger, both of Dresden; Sandy (George) Miller of Colorado and Sally (Jim) Rowse of Oregon and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Baker and a brother in-law, Donald Breeden.
Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Joseph Offenberger officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
