A funeral service for Daniel Lee Gatten, 55 of Grabill, Indiana will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday May 9, 2007 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Bill VanMeter officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens. Mr. Gatten died unexpectedly Friday May 4, 2007. Mr. Gatten was born April 22, 1952 in Newark to the late Henry D. and Bertha E. (Schadd) Gatten. He was a graduate of Newark High School. He worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker. Survivors include daughters, Angela D. (Chris) Broskin of Homer City, Pennsylvania, Tonya (Chad) Hull of Utica; grandchildren, Alexander and Brandon Broskin; a sister, Jan Bartlett of Newark; and a half brother, Arland (Carol) Gatten of Newark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, and a half brother. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
