IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia "Cindy"
A. Kalb
February 10, 1953 – June 26, 2024
Cynthia "Cindy" A. Kalb, 71, of Nashport, Ohio died early Wednesday morning, June 26, 2024, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, OH.
Born February 10, 1953, in Zanesville, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth E. & Margaret A. (Wilson) Thress and a 1971 Graduate of Brookhaven High School. After graduation, Cindy obtained her Bachelor of Music from Capitol University in 1974. After spending 18 years as a devoted homemaker and excellent mother to her children, she taught music at all four of the Tri-Valley Elementary Schools. In 2004 Cindy earned her Master of Teaching. She retired after 20 plus years of service to the community teaching both music and art. Even after Cindy retired, she continued to substitute teach in classrooms for Frazeysburg elementary. She loved the children she taught as if they were her own.
Cindy loved teaching, but she also enjoyed cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds. She was an avid reader and would always be deep into a book with several on deck to read next. Cindy's greatest love was her family. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her children or grandchildren. Cindy was so happy to spend her 50th wedding anniversary earlier this month at The Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri with her husband, her children and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, where many lasting memories were made.
Surviving is her husband of 50 years, Paul R. Kalb whom she married June 8, 1974; son, Ben (Starla) Kalb of Las Cruces, NM; two daughters, Megan Kalb of Englewood, OH and Kate (A.R.) Moreno of Kearney, MO; six grandchildren, Tyler (Julia) Kalb, Kyle, Travis, and Emmet Kalb and Samuel and Luke Moreno; two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Ashlyn Kalb; two brothers, Andrew Thress and Daniel (Annie) Thress; sister in-law, Linda Thress; past sister in-law and close friend, Debbie Joy and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Thress.
