Craig Allen Nusbaum, 79, of Canfield, Ohio died unexpectedly Sunday morning, June 16, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio.

Born December 25, 1944, in Keokuk, Iowa, he was the eldest son of the late J. Truxton & Maxine June (Tanke) Nusbaum and a 1963 graduate of Wooster High School.  Craig obtained his bachelor's degree in business management from Muskingum University before being drafted into the United States Army where he served in Germany during the Vietnam War.  He worked over forty-five years for RMI Titanium and returned to college at Youngstown State University where he secured his master's degree in accounting in 1992.

Craig was a Christian by faith and meticulous in every aspect of his life.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed cheering for the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and The Ohio State Buckeyes.  Craig was the epitome of a family man, he loved his wife, children, and grandchildren unconditionally. He adored his grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them.

Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Sandy L. (Guthrie) Nusbaum, two sons, Doug (Rachel) Nusbaum of Avon Lake, Ohio and Eric Nusbaum of Morrow, Ohio; a daughter, Michelle (Justin) Marshall of Frazeysburg, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Emily and Katie Nusbaum, Mattie and Ella Nusbaum, and Truxton, Kaleigha, and Jaxson Marshall; one brother, Jim (Margie) Nusbaum of Keokuk, Iowa and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents, J. Truxton and Maxine J. Nusbaum and a daughter in-law, Lisa (Bruner) Nusbaum.

Friends and family may call from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday, June 24, 2024 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 6:00 pm on Monday, June 24, 2024 at the funeral home with Mr. Josh Miller officiating.

Craig will be laid to rest, with military honors, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, OH 44273.
