NEWARK ? Funeral services for Clinton E. Fawcett, 77, of Newark, Ohio will be at 1:00pm Monday, January 31, 2005 the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, with the Rev. Kenneth Daft officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery. Mr. Fawcett died Friday morning, January 28, 2005 at Arlington Nursing Home. Born July 5, 1927 in The Plains, Tuscarawas County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles and Pearl (Arnold) Fawcett and was a 1945 graduate of Uhrichsville High School. Mr. Fawcett was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Wakatomika Post #6193 VFW. He was a retired employee of Conrail Railrod having worked in the Telegraphy and Signal department. He was an active volunteer working with both the Licking County Meals on Wheels and the Salvation Army. Mr. Fawcett was an avid sports fan and a very ?true? Ohio State Buckeye fan. For many years he was a multi-sports official in Licking and Muskingum Counties. Surviving is his wife, Nancy A. (Conner) Fawcett, whom he married November 26, 1948; one son, Nick L. (Deb) Fawcett of Florida; three daughters, Dusty (Frank) Stare of Newark, Debbie (Chris) Montgomery of Newark and Darcy (Peter) Lee of Connecticut; seven grandchildren, Jeff (Kristen) Stare, Lorrie (Matt) Walsh, Heidi Siegel, Jennifer, Joshua and Holly Montgomery and Brandon N. Fawcett; seven great grandchildren, Gabriella and Gwendolyn Stare, Bryce and Abbigail Siegel, Langdon Johnson and Ashlynn and Anjel Montgomery; four sisters, Annie McCray of Charlotte, North Carolina, Betty (Leigh) Harline of Palm Springs, California, Dorothy (Tom) Bradley, Tuscarawas, Ohio and Ruthie (Ronnie) Williams of Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews; and his ?special buddy?, his dog, Casper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Heather Montgomery; three brothers, Ed, Don and Dean Fawcett and a sister, Helen Pfeiffer. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street.
