Clinton O. Dawson, Sr., 77, of Dresden, Ohio died peacefully at his home Monday morning, July 9, 2012
Born January 11, 1935 in Muskingum County he was a son of the late Harold Lamoyne and Martha Louise (Downs) Dawson and was a 1954 graduate of Jefferson High School. Mr. Dawson was a brick and block layer and retired in 2003 from International Masonry Contractors. Previously he was owner of C. O. Dawson Masonry Company during the 70's and 80's, and he was a former school bus driver with Tri-Valley Schools. He loved farming, dogs and horses.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Isabelle (Aulabaugh) Dawson whom he married April 14, 1957; two sons, Clinton O. Dawson, Jr. and Stephen Edwin (Margaret) Dawson, Sr. both of Frazeysburg; two daughters, Joyce Ann (Dale) Price of Dresden and Joan Ellen Dawson of Caldwell, Ohio; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; four brothers, James Dawson of Newark, Ohio, Paul (Dona) Dawson of Dresden, Glenn (Judy) Dawson of Merchantville, New Jersey and Max (Brenda) Dawson of Fredonia, Kansas and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Dawson.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor John Miller officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
