A funeral service for Clarence David ?Dave? Shrock, Jr., 58, of Heath will be held at 2PM Tuesday July 26, 2005 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street with Pastor Russell Hylton officiating. Friends will be received from noon until the time of the service. David passed away at his home at 12:30AM Friday July 22, 2005 following a lengthy illness related to his military service. He completed tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam and was a member of the 101st Airborne Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries in combat and numerous other decorations for valor and courage under fire. He worked briefly at the Newark Air Force Station and was a member of the boilermakers union. An ex ?log dog?, David built custom log homes in Montana. Always preferring the outdoors, he enjoyed hiking and hunting in the Bitterroot Mountains, panning for gold, metal detecting and stock car racing. David is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Shrock, his mother, Jeanette (Irwin) Shrock of Newark, daughters, Allison Lynette Shrock of Newark, Catherine Rene Shrock of CA, step sons, Michael Aaron (Diana) Bell of Deltona FL, James Patrick Bell of Heath,brother, Donald W. Shrock of Newark, grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua and Bobby, sister in law, Jerry Powell of Newark, special cousins, Sandi Reitter of Thornville, Pete Gravens of Cambridge, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends, and his beloved pets, Tinker and Minnie. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence D. Shrock, Sr., grandparents, John and Eva Bidwell, Ray and Effie Shrock and his beloved cat, Milo.
