Obituary

FRAZEYSBURG ? Clare M. Gilmore, 92, formerly of Nashport, Ohio died Tuesday afternoon, February 24, 2009 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. Born December 14, 1916 in Quaker City, Ohio, she was a high school graduate and she attended Muskingum College. Mrs. Gilmore was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church of Zanesville. She was a published author and was a member of Christian Writers Fellowship International. Mrs. Gilmore assisted her husband, the late Rev. Calvin Gilmore, who served many pastorates in the Cambridge, Steubenville and Mansfield Districts of the United Methodist Church. She was also an avid animal lover, especially her kitty, ?Midnight?. Surviving is her son and daughter in-law, Gary and Jean Gilmore of Wilmington, Delaware. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Calvin H. Gilmore, whom she married December 24, 1937 and who died October 12, 1994. Calling hours will be 3 to 6pm Friday, February 27, 2009 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street, Frazeysburg, Ohio. Funeral services will be 10:00am Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the funeral home with the Rev. Doris Flynn officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery in Quaker City, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or to the Animal Shelter Society, 1431 Serenity Lane, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
