Christopher Michael Bailey, 52, of Newark, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, August 2, 2025, at his home.

He was born a "Spring Chicken" on April 25, 1973, in Columbus, Ohio, to his parents Steve and Julia. He grew up in the Newark/Heath area and graduated from Lakewood High School. Afterward, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps—a commitment he held with deep pride and unwavering loyalty. He carried that sense of honor and duty throughout his life and was fiercely proud of both his service and his achievements.

Chris worked as a shift supervisor at Packaging Corporation of America for 27 years, where he was admired for his leadership, strong work ethic, and no-nonsense dedication. He was honest and tough, but fair.

A true jack of all trades, Chris was the kind of man who never stopped. He was always building, fixing, or tinkering with something using his ever-growing collection of tools. He had a passion for kayaking, arcade and video games, and anything sci-fi or action-packed—especially NCIS, Star Wars, Marvel, Harry Potter and many, many more. He loved to shop, loved to eat, and loved to "piddle-fart around," as he would often say.

Chris was loud, stubborn, and always convinced he was right—if you know, you know—but that was just part of his charm. He was always helping someone, somewhere, with something. Everyone who knew him had their own unique love and admiration for him, and he will be deeply and forever missed.

Friends and family are invited to call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, located at 110 West Third Street.

A celebration of Chris's life will be held at a later date.
