Chester H. Flowers, 98 of Hanover died Friday morning, December 5, 2025 at his home, with his loving family at his side.

Chester was born May 31, 1927 in Hanover, OH to the late Lloyd E. and Ruth R. (Burrier) Flowers.  He married Edith Wright April 9th, 1950; they made a home together for 66 years until her passing July 26, 2016.

Chester is survived by his children, Darla Cozzens, Duane (Marty), Dwight, Don (Beth), and Dean Flowers; grandchildren, Angi (Steve) Sidwell, Marsha (Travis) Johnson, Richie (Lena) Flowers, Nicole (Kelsey) Gieseler, Mike (Macy), Mitch, Matt (Jillian), Tyler (Annie), Brady, Jesse, and Jolie Flowers; great grandchildren, Tori (Quentin) Hayes, Lexi (Nate) Lancaster, Jacqueline and Jackson Gieseler, Easton, Emma, Anna, Leland, Maggie, Josiah, Ivan, and Mia Flowers; and great-great grandchildren, Koben and Quinlea Hayes.

Additional survivors include his sisters, Naomi Waters, Dolores McPeek, Esther Weeks, Vivian Wilson, Donna Renicker, Phyllis (Emerson) Acord, Sharon (Earl) Wallace and Patricia (Dennis) Waters;  a sister in-law, Lois Flowers; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Edith, he was preceded in death by a son in-law, Roger Cozzens; a daughter in-law, Glenda Flowers and great-granddaughter, Zoee Bree Sidwell; brothers, Lloyd Jr., Roy, Kenneth, and Walter; and sisters, Virginia Flowers, Jane Hamby, and Juanita Lynn; several brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Vensil & Chute | Newark.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the funeral home with Wes Humble officiating.  Burial will follow at Hanover Cemetery.

After the funeral there will be a gathering of family and friends at the Hanover Township Hall.
