A funeral service for Charlotte C. Stephenson Null Weiser, 97 of Newark will be held Monday October 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Eric Miller officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Weiser died Thursday October 26, 2006 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born April 27, 1909 in Ironton, Ohio to the late Henry Clay and Laura Ellen (Allen) Stephenson. She retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas in 1971 where she was employed in the cafeteria. She was also employed three years with Granville IGA. Mrs. Weiser attended Heckla High School and was a member of the basketball team. She was also a member of the Pharis Tire & Rubber championship basketball team in 1948. She was the oldest member of the Heath Church of Christ where she had attended for 34 years. She happily served the church in any capacity. She was active in the Sunday School and Women?s Groups. For over 25 years she was known as the ?Pocket Lady? during the VBS program. Throughout her life she enjoyed working in her yard. Survivors include her daughter, Christina (Guy) Martin of Granville; sister, Eloise Welsh of Thompson Station, TN.; grandchildren, Cheri (Lee) Miller of Newark, Scott (Sharon) Martin of Plain City, Todd (Trudi) Martin of Granville, Michael (Paula) Martin of Venice, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Andi (John) Russell, Eric (Michelle) Miller, Sean Martin, Seth Martin, Jake Martin, Jessi Martin, Johanne Lorenz, Nina Lorenz, Nicole Lorenz, Kyle Martin, Holly Martin, Grant Martin, Casey Martin; four great-great grandchildren; special cousin, Nora Smith of Ironton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents four sisters and three brothers preceded her in death. Calling hours will be observed Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street Newark.
