Obituary

A celebration of the life of Pastor Charles T. ?Tom? Snedeker, 54 of Newark will be held Thursday July 17, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at The Old Country Church 101 S. 5th Street Newark with Bishop George Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pastor Snedeker went to be with the Lord on Sunday July 13, 2003 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born May 10, 1949 in Newark, Ohio to Thomas L. & Delores J. (Johnson) Snedeker of Newark. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Nancy A. (Decker) Snedeker, whom he married October 18, 1969; three daughters, Missy (Benjamin) Wile, Jr., Sheri (Eric) Johnson, Candee Cooperider all of Newark; seven grandchildren, Alyson Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Trent Cooperider, Benny Wile, III, Damond Cooperider, Nathan & Caleb Wile; seven brothers, Frank (Linda) Snedeker, Tony (Debbie) Snedeker, Jeff (Carla) Snedeker, Robbie (Ursula) Snedeker, Mark Snedeker, Tim (Betsy) Snedeker, all of Newark, Steve Snedeker, Murdock, Fla.; sister Nancy (Tim) Specht of Utica; several nieces and nephews. One brother Mike Snedeker is deceased. Pastor Snedeker founded The Old Country Church in 1983. He was active in the Licking County Jail Ministries, Licking County Food Pantry, International Ministerial Association, Land of Legend Gospel Music Group for a number of years, Gospel Music Time Radio Program on WHTH & WNKO, adjunct of the DAV. He held several positions helping to minister in many of the local churches. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a certified Hunter Education Specialist with the State of Ohio, Division of Wildlife. Pastor Snedeker had served in the United States Marine Corps. Calling hours will be observed Wednesday July 16, 2003 at The Old Country Church 101 S. 5th Street Newark from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Nancy Snedeker C/o Park National Bank 50 S. 3rd Street Newark, Ohio 43055.
