Obituary
NEWARK: A funeral service for Charles Edward â??Edâ? Sherrard will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. John Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Sherrard died October 25, 2010 at Autumn Healthcare in Newark. He was born October 6, 1935 in Newark to the late Samuel and Bertha Mae (Wilson) Sherrard. A graduate of Newark High School, Mr. Sherrard had worked for Roper and retired from the Granville Street Department. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, golf, and boating. He loved to travel with his family.
Survivors include his children, Debbie Moyer and Rick Sherrard, both of Newark; grandchildren, Joshua (Deanna) Sherrard, Jeremy (Jessica) Sherrard, Brooklyn Sherrard, Brian Moyer, Shawn Moyer, Amber (Rex) Wright, Hank Crawmer; 12 great-grandchildren; and his faithful grand dog, Buddy.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Sherrard was preceded in death by his step-father, J. Nelson Hardesty; and his wife, Diane S. (Arledge) Sherrard, whom he married July 18, 1957 and who died January 7, 2010.
Friends and family may visit from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at VENSIL-ORR & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
