Charles Henry Rogers, 95, formerly of Toboso, Ohio died early Monday morning, November 18, 2024 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born December 30, 1928 in Perry Township, Licking County, he was a son of the late George Henry & Emma Mary (Yellig) Rogers and a 1947 graduate of Hanover-Toboso High School. Charles proudly served in the United States Army and was a member of Toboso United Methodist Church. He worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass, where he retired after 43 years of service in 1989. Charles was an excellent farmer and gardener, he could fix most anything, and he built three houses for his family to live in. He was the most sacrificing, caring, loving, devoted, and patient great grandfather, grandfather, father, and husband. Charles was still providing care for his wife, Helen, the day he was admitted to the hospital.
Surviving is his loving wife of 76 years, Helen Anne (Varner) Rogers whom he married August 30, 1948; son, Tony Rogers of Circleville, Ohio; daughter, Sue Grigsby of Nashport, Ohio; four grandchildren, Shannon (Matt) Gott, Benjamin (Caitlin) Rogers, Megan (James) McGugan, and Katelyn (Jacob) Muller; eleven great grandchildren; Ethan, Brody and Hadley Gott, Theodore, Josie, Margo and Beckham Rogers, Hudson McGugan, Poppy, Wells, and Warby Muller and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank (Opal) Rogers; three sisters, Ruth (Otto) Melick, Margaret (Charlie) Nethers, and Lois (Frank) McGinnis; daughter in-law, Pamela Rogers and son in-law, Randy Grigsby.
The family would like to thank Sarah and the compassionate staff at Brookdale for the loving care they provided for Charles. The family would also like to thank Genesis Hospital and the Morrison House for their care for Charles during his final week of life and their kindness to the family.
Friends and family may call from 11am until the time of service at NOON on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 W. Third Street.
Funeral Services will be NOON, Saturday November 23, 2024 at the funeral home with Pastor Jacob Muller officiating.
Charles will be laid to rest in Hanover Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Toboso United Methodist Church.
