Obituary

Charles Raymond King, 90, of Adamsville, died at 5:45PM Saturday December 24, 2005 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. King was born April 7, 1915, a son of the late Charles Washington and Myrtle Viola (Jones) King and was a lifelong resident of Adamsville. He retired from Clow Water Systems in Coshocton and had a love of dogs and a passion for running field trials. Surviving are his loving wife, Violet Tanier Smythe King, whom he married August 28, 1982; two sons, Louie (Debbie) King of Nashport, Jim (Delores) King of Woodsfield; two daughters, Peg (Weldon) Adams of Florida, Sally (Danny) Bonk of Michigan; four step sons, Alvin Smythe of Coshocton, William Smythe of Dresden, Roy Dean (Rosemary Elder) Smythe of Amanda, Terry (Marsha Kennedy) Smythe of Dresden, grandchildren, Randy King, Jeff (Jackie) King, Lynn (Lance) Curtis, Janet (Larry) Christ, Kristin Rossiter, Kim (Bob) Carpenter, Terri (Dave) DeVault, Warren (Sharon) Adams, Jeremy and Kory Bonk, Heidi and Sabrina Smythe, Renee (Kyle) Thorn, April Smythe, Dana (Tana) Smythe, Larry (Lisa) Smythe, Kim (Ronnie) Smythe; great grandchildren, Amanda King, Jacoby King, Darrin and Dustin Ryan, Aaron and Emily Christ, Caleb and Anna Rossiter, Ashley and Jamie DeVault, Austin, Eric, and Amanda Adams, Cortney and Dakota Thorn, Brody Smythe, Anna and Cameron Conrad, Luke and Tucker Smythe, Emily Smythe, Patrick, Payton and Paige Smythe; one sister, Bernice Lucille Lane of the Mark Rest Center in McConnelsville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Sarbaugh King, one grandson, Cory Bonk, one granddaughter, Tina King, one great granddaughter, Kylie Rossiter, three brothers, Arthur, Harold, and Gerald King, seven sisters, Ethel Hogue, Ester Hogue, Carrie King, Edith Bunk, Hazel Wisecarver, Alice Wortman and Louella Cole Rice. Friends may call from 4-7PM Wednesday December 28, 2005 at the Adamsville Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1PM Thursday with Pastor Ricci Arthur officiating. Burial will follow in Baptist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Assoc., 1950 Arlingate Lane, Columbus, OH 43228.
