A funeral service for Charles Loyd Priest, 64 of Heath will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 8, 2007 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery. Mr. Priest died Wednesday May 2, 2007 at his home. He was born July 12, 1942 in Dresden to James Richard and Dorotha (Wolford) Priest. He was a 1960 Graduate of Frazeysburg High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during the war in Vietnam. He had worked at Arvin-Merritor for over 40 years. He was a former member of the Druids, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Frazeysburg Fire Department, United Auto Workers 1037, and a protestant by faith. He had coached little league baseball when his children were young. He loved hunting, golfing and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his mother, Dorotha Priest of Frazeysburg; his loving wife Saundra (Dieringer) Priest of Heath, whom he married February 13, 1965; a daughter, Mich?el (Wes) Carr of Heath; a son, Bradley (Shelley) Priest of Reynoldsburg; grandchildren, Braden and Brian Priest; sisters, Carla (Fred) Bennett of Frazeysburg, Judy (Richard) Goetz of Dresden, Christy (Rick) Lacy of Dresden; brothers, James Priest of Frazeysburg, Tom (Cathy) Priest of Coshocton, Rick (Becky) Priest of Frazeysburg, Randy (Paula) Priest of Trinway; brother in-law Michael Dieringer of Columbus; 3 aunts; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; a sister in-law, Anna Priest; a brother in-law, Michael Brennen; his father in-law and mother in-law, Barney and Ruth Dieringer. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-9 Monday May 7, 2007 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark. Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor?s choice.
