Charles "Donnie" (C. D.) Nethers, 82, of Newark, Ohio died Wednesday morning, April 29, 2015 in the emergency room of Licking Memorial Hospital.
Born February 16, 1933 in Licking County he was a son of the late Charlie and Margaret (Rogers) Nethers. Mr. Nethers was a self-employed farmer and Oil Producer and was president of Nethers Oil & Gas. He was a member of The Church of God of Licking County and was former Perry Township trustee. Donnie was an avid Licking Valley Football fan and enjoyed working in his orchard with his many fruit trees. His greatest love was his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years, Martha E. (Nichols) Nethers whom he married April 26, 1952; two daughters, Peggy A. (David) Helser of Glenford, Ohio and Nancy J. (Greg) McDonald of Frazeysburg, Ohio; five sons, Gary "Hoss" (Sharlene) Nethers, Charles "Mose" (Cindy) Nethers, Thomas A. Nethers, Randy "Hot Shot" (Rosanne) Nethers and Rob (Toni) Nethers, all of Newark; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren with two on the way; two sisters, Shirley Lee and Pat (Dean) Redman, both of Newark; two brothers, Bill (Linda) Nethers and Dean (Ada) Nethers both of Newark and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Seth McDonald, who died March 13, 2005.
Calling hours will be from 2pm to 8pm Sunday, May 3, 2015 at The Church of God of Licking County, 2181 Riggs Road, Newark.
Funeral services will be 10:00am Monday, May 4, 2015 at The Church of God of Licking County with Pastors Tony Bartlett and Casey Fenn officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery.
