A funeral for Charles E. Moore, 88 of Newark, Ohio will be held Friday January 23, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Wil Estep officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery. Mr. Moore died Monday January 19, 2004 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born December 9, 1915 in Dry Branch, West Virginia to the late A.A. and Martha Elizabeth (Scott) Moore.Mr. Moore worked in coal mines from 1936 to 1959. He retired in 1979 from the T.S. Lipton Company in Albion, N.Y. He was a member of UMW Locals Wet Branch # 1818 and Dry Branch # 2904.He is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Ralph) Webb of Stanley, North Carolina, Shelvia (James) Loving of Northwood, Ohio and Janet (Wilbur) Kirkendall of Newark; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and three nieces. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Estep) Moore in 1985, three sisters and a granddaughter.Calling hours will be observed Thursday evening 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
